Afternoon all, hope you're all having a good week so far (only Monday)!
Finished my art course, handed in my final piece a few weeks ago, I've uploaded a photograph to my gallery. Was pretty pleased with it, I actually took some time to finish it and that's something I never do with any of my work, I seem to have a complete lack of patience and feel I need to produce a perfect drawing straight away, its something I'm learning to overcome. I've got to keep telling myself that, with time and practice, I might start to produce clearer and better pictures, and even sometimes match the high expectations I seem to place on myself before I even start.
The course I undertook itself was titled "Drawing and Painting Techniques" however, I found in reality this wasn't a very broad selection of techniques, and mostly focused on Water Colour painting, and specifically landscapes. Not being a confident artist in any sense of the word I struggled to do anything but follow the guidance of the course and the tutor, and so produced a Water Colour landscape of Eliean Donan Castle in Scotland (Famous for appearing the movie Highlander).
I was pretty pleased with the result, I used a mix of water colour paints and water soluble coloured pencils, I also used fine liner to add more detail to the foreground to try and create depth to the picture (I'm not sure I entirely succeeded with this). If I were to repaint I know which areas I would work on improving. I would like to have to spent more time on other techniques as I've never been a huge fan of water colours, but I've learnt to take on board what I was taught and some of the techniques we learnt were genuinely useful in producing our final piece of work.
Since finishing the course I've found I'm doodling a lot more. Having lost any motivation and patience for art (for a long time) this seems to be something new for me, especially as I'm producing these 'doodles' on a regular basis. It seems to a good starting point for my confidence, and hopefully something I can build on. The doodles seem to be primarily based on favourite cartoon and gaming characters, ones I can doodle from memory at least.
All the best for now!

Its been so long...
... I almost forgot my log in. Only 3564 notifications though, and thanks to the peeps who added some of my work as favourites.
Love and peace

Drawing 'n' Painting
I've signed up to a Drawing and Painting techniques course at a local college, feels weird but it was a new years resolution to try and kickstart my enthusiasm for drawing again, and perhaps see if I can get my creativity and imagination back, who knows, worth a shot :)
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and new years!
All the best

Happy Anniversary to my blog (and Happy Halloween)
My blog Reality Glitch has turned 4 years old as of yesterday, it all began on Halloween 4 years ago and I'm surprised it's still going, I didn't think I'd have the motivation or time to keep posting. I'm glad I've proved myself wrong, see the link below for my latest posts on the Eurogamer Expo, and a Halloween special on a few of my favourite spooky Amiga games from back in the day.
Hope everyone had an awesome and safe Halloween :D

Just posted a new blog on Reality Glitch, first one of 2013 about the classic PC game Wolfenstein 3D, enjoy!
